Going to jail for Knowledges murder is the last thing on Trina’s mind. Her family was always two steps ahead of the enemy and this time is no different. Her biggest concern was making Detective Thompson pay for everything he’s tried to do to her family but when a blast from the past shows up and shakes things up, Trina realizes that somethings are more important but that doesn’t last long when Detective Thompson strikes again.
Chaos is still trying to get over the shock of being shot and almost losing his life. He is struggling with the fact that he is not one hundred percent but when the chance to come face to face with Trey presents itself all of the doubt leaves his mind and he is in full “Chaos mode” but is he really ready?
Baby is still trying to figure herself out and with a new prospect on her heels she may just get what she’s been looking for but not everyone will be happy for her.
Stone and Slick are working overtime to make sure that their relationships are everything that Starr and Paige could ask for but with drama at every that may not be the couple’s reality. When you have love and loyalty anything is possible right?
After the first two installments in Nikki Brown’s My Love and His Loyalty series I didn’t know what to expect from this crazy bunch and the people dumb and delusional enough to go against them in the last installment, but I was definitely on board for the ride.
The one thing that really shocked me as I was reading My Love and His Loyalty 3 by Nikki Brown was how tolerant I was of Trina’s character. Usually I’m not a fan of mama queen-pins or bosses because in the past characters with these qualities they are either doing too much, aren’t accepting of change, or both and irk my nerves as I read about the influence they have not only on their children but the story in general. Trina’s character though was so dang savage and yet a lady-like that her character was an instant favorite, I think Wayne helped level her out in a lot ways that prevented her from getting to the female boss characters I spoke of earlier.
The one character that really stood out to me was Chaos’ character, or the final version of it. The intricacies of his character was done so well that even though I loved me some Stone, Shine, and Slick he was definitely a favorite. I am a sucker for the unhinged types and Chaos definitely fit into that category.
While Chaos might’ve been a favorite character, my favorite couple would have to be Starr and Stone. Not only did the author give more page time to these two but their chemistry and ability to work through things together was intoxicating.
I love that with every Nikki Brown story I read she focuses on the importance of family and this element is quickly making her a beloved author of mine.
I felt that for My Love and His Loyalty 3 the ending was very satisfying and tied the series up well. I’m also glad that Brown included the holiday scenes for everybody because since it was almost Christmas when I read this it felt appropriate.
