My mother used to have a saying for everything.

“You can’t be pretty and lucky.”

She wasn’t pretty or lucky.

“You have to kiss a lot of toads before you find your Prince Charming.”

I kissed too many of those. Sorry, but Prince Charming isn’t in Hicktown, Kentucky.

“The good ones go to Heaven; the bad ones go to Hell.”

Guess I’m going to Hell.

“Hell is paved with good intentions.”

Surprisingly, that one is true. Why? Because ...

I intended to stay away from Calder Riggs.

I intended not to fall in love with him.

I intended to find a man who wasn’t a loser or a joker.

Oh well, I’ve never been afraid of Hell, anyway.

That’s why I’m Crazy Bitch!

I really didn’t know what to think of Crazy B!tch by Jamie Begley because Crazy Bitch and T.A. are the most unknown characters out of the Biker Bitches posse. I was intrigued though, because I wanted to see how Begley would spin the romance between Crazy Bitch and Calder.

Even though much wasn’t shared about Crazy Bitch, the few glimpses we received of her characters throughout the stories in the Last Riders and the Biker Bitches series she quickly became a favorite behind Sex Piston and Killyama. Calder on the other hand pretty much had all of his business spread throughout the main two interconnected series because of how much his former drug problem screwed up his life and almost that of his little girl’s. But with Crazy Bitch being the sister of the heart to Sex Piston, and Calder being blood and club brothers with Stud, I had a feeling that Crazy B!tch was going to be drama filled.

It was surprising – although I should’ve sort of expected it because of past stories in the Biker Bitches and Last Rider series – that Lucky played a huge part in Crazy B!tch, especially since I thought he had retired and was enjoying his new lease on life in Treepoint with Willa. It was a good surprise because wherever there is one Last Rider there’s sure to be more, so it was awesome that Begley made the entirety of Crazy B!tch a scavenger hunt-slash-competition between The Destructors, The Blue Horsemen, and the Last Riders, while encapsulating it within a mystery surrounding the Biker Bitches hometown.

The romance between Calder and Crazy Bitch was so well balanced and realistic that I really couldn’t see their dance going any other way since I now know their personalities. Calder was very patient with Crazy Bitch, but he didn’t lose his spine in the midst of winner her, which was another thing about his character I appreciated. Crazy Bitch might’ve been a ball buster to almost every other male but once Calder won her over she was so sweet and loving that you almost think she’s a totally different character except that the way Begley pens her you instinctively know that that’s just who she is; once you’re in you’re in forever.

Another thing I loved was the inclusion or continuation of Gavin’s story. I have a feeling that whenever and however his story gets told I’m going to need tissues and therapy sessions, just like with Shade he has a Navy Seal mixed in with a Marine Corp.-like obstacle course waiting for him.

About Jamie Begley

“I was born in a small town in Kentucky. My family began poor, but worked their way to owning a restaurant. My mother was one of the best cooks I have ever known, and she instilled in all her children the value of hard work, and education.

Taking after my mother, I’ve always love to cook, and became pretty good if I do say so myself. I love to experiment and my unfortunate family has suffered through many. They now have learned to steer clear of those dishes. I absolutely love the holidays and my family puts up with my zany decorations.

For now, my days are spent writing, writing, and writing. I have two children who both graduated this year from college. My daughter does my book covers, and my son just tries not to blush when someone asks him about my books.

Currently I am writing five series of books- The Last Riders, The VIP Room, Predators MC, Biker Bitches, and The Dark Souls.

All my books are written for one purpose- the enjoyment others find in them, and the expectations of my fans that inspire me to give it my best.”

Life dealt him a dead man’s hand.

Lucky had always led a life of service. Always put his life on the line for someone else, managing to survive by pure luck and skill. After bringing an end to a multi-state drug ring, he was finally able to live the life he had wanted as a Last Rider…

A good man would walk away and not touch the curvy woman who had been tugging on his heartstrings. Lucky wasn’t a good man. Therefore, the bad-ass biker in him had a choice: once again become the man he had pretended to be and stake his claim, or take the devil’s highway.

Some girls had all the luck.

Willa wasn’t one of them. All she wanted to do was give a home to the children she had made orphans. Instead, she found herself needing help from the man who had left the pulpit behind to embrace a life of sin.

Painfully shy and withdrawn she wanted a quiet life, a simple man, and well-behaved children. The last thing she had ever expected was for Lucky to want her size twenty body and show her a passion that would lead her straight to hell.

I knew that as soon as I read the prologue that I was going to need to write a review of Lucky’s Choice. Maybe I should’ve known sooner since I’ve been waiting for Lucky’s book since Razor’s Ride. To be honest the ‘when’ of knowing I would needs to speak about my thoughts on this book, is not so much important as the ‘why.’

What was it about Lucky’s Choice that impacted me so much that I had to put my thoughts on paper and computer screens?

Outside of Shade, Lucky was the most mysterious brother of the Last Riders that I have been chomping at the bit to know more about. Clues were dropped here and there but never so much that we got a look into the inner working of who he was.

Willa on the other hand was practically an open book with her transparency. She wore her heart on her sleeve and I loved her character for it. There was a freshness, purity, in her open honesty. She was better in her ability to commit selfless acts towards others or taking care of others needs before they manifested into a persons life than both Beth and Lily put together. She was so fiercely loyal that it was no shocker the way Shade’s and her relationship blossomed as it did, yes I did say Shade. Outside of the Biker Bitches, Willa was one of my favorite heroines in this world that Jamie Begley has created. The depth to her character shocked me and blew me away at the same time, it also left me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what she could possibly say or do next.

Out of all the books in this series, The Predators, and the Biker Bitches, I have never, never, wanted to put a book down more than this one, and at only 26% into it! I wanted to jump through my device and ring the hellions that Willa took custody over, Lucky’s, Bliss’, and Jenna’s, neck until they were purple in the face! I wanted to sic Killyama on all of them.Whew! It felt good to get that out as well as calling Lucky a very bad name on Facebook.

After posting that bad word on Facebook I felt bad afterward because if I’d just waited a few chapters I would’ve been ready to declare my love to Lucky. Oh, if I’d just waited I wouldn’t have felt like I betrayed my love for him and the future babies we would have had if Willa wasn’t his soul mate.

Just a word to the wise, if you’re expecting Lucky’s Choice to be like the other Last Riders stories, or even like Shade’s because of the similarity in their lengths, you might end up having reactions such as, ‘what the heck just happened?!’ or ‘what the heck is happening?!’ Basically the same reaction. I will advise you to just go in with your love for Lucky and your understanding that he is human and that there will be mistakes made to guide you through these pages and you should be okay. Maybe by doing this it will save you from possibly throwing your device, yelling at your significant other if they have a penis, or yelling at your reading device.

Lucky’s Choice had all the feel. It was hands down one of the best books I’d read so far in 2015. If you haven’t read anything by this author featuring these men you are missing out on a reading world that will have you coming back for more and spending hours talking to fans of Jamie Begley, about certain scenes, characters, and predictions. These books and this author are a favorite and auto-buy of mine for a reason.

Lucky! I want to eat you up like the marshmallows out of a Lucky Charm’s box. Freaking yum!
