Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted at (un)Conventional Bookviews. “So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.”
Selection for this week comes from my current read, Shvonne Latrice’s Our Love Is The Realest. This scene is, I guess you could say, the start of Waayil and Yikayla rekindling their relationship after some unfortunate events that separated them. Now while they still aren’t together together, as least where I’m currently still reading, they are definitely working towards that.
“Once seated by the window, Waayil and I both ordered the slab of ribs, half wet and half dry rub. My stomach was grumbling and still consumed with butterflies. Once the waiter left, Waayil and I just looked at one another for a few moments. Getting nervous, I glanced out of the window to give myself a break.”
