This week has been eventful and emotionally draining. Sigh…

With one class ending – meaning nerve-wrecking final – another begins next week :(. While I’m excited about this I’m also anxious since there will be new requirements and expectations. This alone was part one of my week.

Part two consisted of waiting for the response from two publishers on whether or not they would allow me to read or listen to their published works. One publisher so eloquently told me that I’m not a ‘well-established’ blog – I still don’t know what that means 4 days after receiving the email. I have yet to receive a response from the second publisher.

Following that disappointment and blow to the ego I was having scheduling trouble and problems focusing on the books I’m still in the process of reading. My planner for this week is full of so many scratch outs, washi tape, sticky notes, and doodles.

I’m also on a book buying ban, but that went to hell this week.

  1. Publishers are pretty tight with their ARCs sometimes. I’ve been turned down for ARCs before. It makes you sad. Don’t let it get you down. Just keep going and you’ll get your blog more established and publishers will take notice. I was lucky that I started with two blogs that were already established. Keep using the library and Half Price Books and that Audible membership. You’ll get there. You write great reviews. You’ll get noticed.

  2. I’m so sorry you have had such a stressful week! I have gotten the same email from publishers before and I felt the same way. Sometimes, publishers only want bloggers that have been at it for years and have thousands of followers. I always try again at a later date!
Great book buys this week!!!! I am super jealous!!
I hope you have a better week!
